The Usual Suspects from the USA are back on the radar with their new single Nights Outside – and let’s get one thing straight: it hits hard. Following up their debut LP Culture Class & Country and if this track’s a sign of what’s coming next, the Suspects are gearing up for a serious follow-up.
Their debut Culture Class & Country first came out in 2024 on Oi!tism Records, and a year later got a Euro pressing through Try And Stop Me Records. New artwork, two vinyl colours – same no-frills Oi! for the real ones.
The Suspects bang out a sound that sits for me somewhere between the oldschool oi bands, with a touch of early ’80s punk to keep things sharp but keeping that raw rough new style oi sound.
Lyrically, they keep it 100% skinhead reality: working through the grind (Laugh Now Cry Later), living the weekend chaos (Bar Crawl) and backing your mates and crew (Friendship Song).
Culture Class & Country isn’t here to charm anyone. It’s not some glossy singalong Oi! for the algorithm crowd – it’s the real, stripped-down thing. A record that earns its place in your collection by being honest and rough around the edges.
And now with Nights Outside, the Suspects show they’re still walking the same dirty streets. No trend-chasing, no polish – just street-level Oi! with pride and purpose.
