An Slua - Sure look it

It took me a while to finally sit down and write this, but Galway’s An Slua made it worth the wait. From the windswept coast of Ireland they come with their first full-length Sure Look It. After smashing it with their How Ya Gettin’ On? EP, An Slua are ready to boot the door down with this full-length that’s gonna hit hard. If you’re into the likes of The Press, The Oppressed this one is for you.

While the Irish punk tradition is often tied to melodic ’77 and power pop sounds, An Slua took a different path right from the start. Their goal was simple: write songs meant to be belted out by the whole room. No surprise then that their name means “The Crowd”.

Their influences are proudly on display—Like i said i hear The Oppressed, The Press, and Irish Oi! staples like Runnin’ Riot. But instead of copying, they channel that lineage into something both fierce and communal. The band keeps the politics up front, tackling class, struggle, and solidarity, but never without leaving space for humor and good times. An Slua prove that taking a stand and having a laugh aren’t opposites—they belong together.

Thanks for the stickers, lads.
