For over a decade, Grade 2 has honed their unique blend of youthful urgency and seasoned experience into something truly compelling. Their latest album, Talk About It, showcases this evolution more than ever before. While they maintain their identity as a street-punk trio from the Isle of Wight, their songs now carry a deeper emotional weight and a refreshing sense of resolve.

The album kicks off with “Cut Throat,” a track that bursts forth like a door flung open, instantly grabbing your attention. There’s no build-up or hesitation; it’s just Grade 2 in their element, sounding sharper than ever. Next up is “Hanging Onto You,” which features one of the catchiest hooks they’ve produced to date. The Hammond-style keys nod to Life Won’t Wait-era Rancid.

The heart of the album is where things get particularly poignant. Tracks like “Standing In The Downpour” and “Better Today” shift from raw energy to a more profound clarity, tackling themes of perseverance in tough times.
