Guadalajara’s Mess have quickly cemented themselves as one of the most thrilling young bands holding down the line for classic Streetpunk and Oi!. Somos Mess finally gathers up their early work from 2020-2022 - all of their EPs, singles and split tracks - remastered for one killer LP. This is a big one for collectors as it includes the tracks from their out-of-print split with The Chisel!
Mess are playing straight up, no frills Streetpunk that taps deep into the spirit of the first wave of Oi!, with driving rhythms, shouted vocals and hooks that lodge into your brain on the first spin.
They have managed to nail that mix of raw aggression and melodic catchiness with working-class anthems that actually sound urgent and authentic in a scene that sometimes feels like it’s getting a bit washed out with the trends.
The bilingual vocals (fluctuating seamlessly between English and Spanish) add a really interesting layer and character to the music as well and it makes for some of the roughest and rowdiest, fun, and energetic punk around with plenty of gang vocals and street level urgency.
If you like your Oi! And Streetpunk to be the real deal without being stuck in the past, this is something else!
