As my fanatical followers would be aware of, I am totally addicted to French Oi! from the 'classic' bands such as Camera Silens, Komintern Sect, etc, ever since I had the pleasure of listening to them. So the debut 12" EP of the Montreal/Gainesville band certainly caught my eye! This is an absolutely awesome no-nonsense package of classic street punk rock which sounds highly influenced by the era of "Chaos En France" and the like bands. It is just about 12 minutes long and contains only 5 tracks but misses nothing. Highly melodic and catchy yet never weak, punchy and powerful with that classic 80s oi! sound!
I appreciate the blend of French and English language and the way it adds to the realism. There is even some beautiful saxophone riff in there which reflects the influence of French Oi! Without any cheap imitation! Members of Force Majeure and Wired Up have done a fantastic job of capturing the essence of the true street punk sound that I love!
Short, sharp and full of soul!
