Over the Hill - Older and Wiser

Gepubliceerd op 8 september 2025 om 18:16

Montreal’s Over the Hill are proof you don’t have to check out of Oi! just ’cause life’s throwing curveballs. These punk vets—born from Street Troopers and Shock Troops—deliver a no-bullshit, shout-along record packed with dirt, sweat, and a sly grin.

But here’s the kicker: they ditch the usual punk clichés and get real about the stuff that hits hard—parenthood, getting old, and the grind of middle-class life, all served with a smirk. “Never Forget” captures the madness of family road trips, “Can’t Run” cracks up at busted knees in full riot mode, and “Low Hangin’” stares middle age dead in the eye.

Half the tracks are in French, the rest in English, packing that Montreal bilingual punch. Sound-wise, it’s pure Oi!: snarling riffs, massive sing-alongs, and just enough twists—like the glam piano on “Young Again”—to keep you hooked.

Raw, real, and packed with heart, this debut shouts loud and proud: getting older in punk doesn’t mean fading out.
