Easy Company, the Streetpunk band from Cork Ireland, have a reputation based on previous releases and consistent community activism. Their debut full-length, If There’s Something – We’re Against It!, released in June 2025 combines an energetic mix of punk and OI! that carries politicized lyrics about solidarity, housing, and general dissatisfaction with a sense of community and togetherness.
Standouts include the lead single 'Divebars & Dugouts', which is a chant about unity against fascism, and which captures the album's ethos perfectly, 'Buckfast & Benylin' is a more affectionate nod to local characters and camaderie, and 'Culture Vulture' skewers the scene's self-aggrandising poseurs, while housing and political frustrations ground the album in a sense of purpose and direction.
The themes are all very grounded in real-life issues affecting people in Cork, not some lofty goal or empty slogan. Everything seems to come from a genuine place. The approach reflects the DIY ethic and an underlying commitment to the local community that has been demonstrated over the years by Easy Company.
The album is strong and focused, not a wasted second, but also clearly has a target audience. For a band that came out of the DIY punk rock scene, it has a certain authenticity and accessibility that may attract new listeners to the genre.
