It is indeed a tough task to keep coming up with street-punk anthems from cricket slang for two decades; but that has been the case with Geoffrey Oi!Cott from Yorkshire for quite some time now. This new album t'20 Years – Singles, Extras and Leg Byes is a collection of singles, B-sides and other rare releases which form a proper retrospect for a band that has thrived on a superbly concept for two decades.

Formed in the late 2000s, Geoffrey Oi!Cott have been true to their name for the past two decades; they are named after a notoriously difficult batsman from Yorkshire. Soon the band formed an essential part of the British Oi! and street-punk community with tight songs, punchy choruses and lyrics which make use of double entendres related to cricket and darts, love for the county and even a drink or two.

Some of the best releases from the band include The Good, The Bad & The Googly, Sticky Wickets, Carry On Oi!Cott and Motorheadingley which follow the band's usual format: gruff vocals, singalong choruses and a lot of respect for both the crease and the oche. They are quite regular at Rebellion as well as many other events where their brand of Oi! Punk which is full of wordplays has won them a lot of fans.

As with all compilations, this one too takes care of the singles, B-sides, festival exclusive tracks and those which did not fit into their usual albums. t'20 refers to both the two decades of the band and also the shortened form of the game; while "Singles, Extras and Leg Byes" refers to the cricket scorecard. All through the album, you will find the same themes as before: loyalty to the county, absurdities of professional sport and pleasures of a good drink; presented in the same style which the band is known for.

Geoffrey Oi!Cott have always been able to bring a fresh angle to their stuff. t'20 Years – Singles, Extras and Leg Byes shows how they are still standing there at the crease and still scoring from unexpected corners.
