Over ten years without a full length album. That's a pretty good chunk of time to be (sort of) absent from the Oi! and street-punk underground. But Manchester, New Hampshire's Yellow Stitches finally decided to make some noise again in April 2026. They dropped "Back With A Gang," their first full-length release since way back in 2012 with "Good Times Violent Crimes." It came out on Friends Family Forever Records, and this seven-track, 23-minute burst of energy is a quick, punchy way of saying they never really left the scene.
Yellow Stitches popped up around the late 2000s, coming out of the hardcore and skinhead-connected scenes in New England. They put out this raw, anthemic American Oi! stuff that was all about working-class pride, loyalty to your mates, and just a whole lot of unashamed energy. Their earlier releases, like "Wrong Place, Wrong Time" from 2010 and then "Good Times Violent Crimes," really built up a solid fanbase among people who were into bands like The Bruisers, Violent Way, and Conservative Military Image.
So, "Back With A Gang" does pretty much exactly what the title suggests. This album is all about coming back to your crew, your friends, that shared understanding of boots, braces, and belting out lyrics. The band has never tried to be anything they're not – they're just kids from New Hampshire who took their local streets and the broader skinhead/punk world and turned it all into sing-along anthems.
Yellow Stitches never really went out of their way to get noticed by the bigger punk world. They stayed put, focused on the tighter community of smaller gigs, playing festivals with established European and American Oi! bands, and building that kind of regional loyalty that turns a band from Manchester, New Hampshire, into a local institution. "Back With A Gang" doesn't really broaden that world; it just doubles down on it.
If you're someone who still thinks Oi! is at its best when it sounds like a bunch of friends all yelling the same chorus at the top of their lungs, well, Yellow Stitches are back just like they promised. They're back with the gang, and they're still rocking the same colors.
