Shaved for Battle deliver another punchy slab of no-nonsense American East Coast Oi! with Unbreakable, their latest full-length. Twelve tracks in just over half an hour, this album wastes zero time getting to the point: straight-ahead street punk with roaring gang vocals, driving rhythms, and that classic boot-stomping energy.
The title track kicks things off strong, setting a defiant tone that runs through the whole record. Highlights include the blistering “Constant Pressure,” which flies by in a furious minute-and-a-half burst, and “Skinhead Rock and Roll,” a rowdy anthem that celebrates the music.
What works best here is the authenticity. Shaved for Battle sound like a crew that’s actually lived the lifestyle they’re singing about—loyalty to your mates, staying solid through hard times, and rejecting fake scenesters from any direction.
Unbreakable deserves a spot in heavy rotation if you like American Oi or just Oi in general.
